Physical education and trans-formed sports

This document presents an initial approach to concepts of sexual diversity and its relationship with physical education and sports, emphasizing the contribution of this field to the reproduction of some stereotypes related to the sex-gender of people. The history of gender verification tests is tackled, as well as the general disposition of the International Olympic Committee on the regulations for the participation of Trans and Intersex people in Olympic competitions. Finally, there are some reflections about sports classification based on gender category and about the need to propose new interactions from the physical-sports education that recognize physical, biological, physiological, neurological and social diversity inherent in people, considering the local and national context of Colombia.
